This should last for ages and is hard core. Not as large as I had imagined but that is my fault for not looking at measurements. There were no screws or plastic mounting caps included, so be sure to get those. You should use the caps to protect your drywall or plaster, and use a stud finder to help you mount this to something super solid. It is cast iron and heavy, which will be good if installed securely. Will be great for heavy wet coats, heavy wool coats, etc. My opinion is that this is just a great looking piece of hardware that I couldn't find the equal of at Home Depot or Lowes, etc. Retro websites would charge a ton more, as much as I love those sites for other things.

You could definitely spray paint this with a high gloss white or other color, after using a neutral spray-primer (or using a spray with a primer in it). I recommend using a clear spray paint if you are worried about wet coats or a humid house causing rust. I wouldn't clean this with water, ever, unless you immediately wipe dry and place some cooking oil on it, let it soak in for a few minutes and then wipe over and over again with clean paper towels to remove residue. It will need preserving just as you would preserve a frying pan, as far as I can guess. Finally, if you don't like the color of the metal, Rustoleum and other companies sell a "metal" line of spray paints (used to be called "Hammered") and those can add shine and change to meet your surrounding hardware at the door, etc.

Super thumbs up, but wish there were some good matching screws included (hard core ones). I don't have time to make it to the store and wanted these mounted sooner than later, considering the winter weather.

I love vintage accessories. These are the perfect accents for our pergola. We use them to hang wet towels or bags. We get compliments on them all the time. I love them so much, I ordered more to hang inside in the bathrooms, as well!

I live in an upstairs flat of a 100 year old converted home which has some very nice period architectural elements in it. When I moved in, there was a sort of cheesy coat rack hanging behind the back door (four brass hooks attacked to a piece of oak.) Since there was no coat closet, or room for a coat tree, I lived with it for a couple of years. Eventually the thing fell off the wall under the weight of coats and purses, so I needed a replacement. I ordered three of these, thinking that three separate hooks might hold up better than another oak plank. Also, since it is in essence a Victorian home, their style appealed to me. I received them, easily installed them into the plaster walls, and love them! All 3 arms swing on each hook, so you can place a coat, hat and purse on each of the three arms of the individual hook. After three months, they are holding up well during our winter where we have had to hang all manner of outerwear on them. Charm, usability, and longevity… the reason I love older homes… are present in this product. Would highly recommend!

It's beautiful. It's functional. It's strong. The swing of the arms is a bit rough because of how it is cast, but it's really not that big of a deal. Chalk it up to character. 😉 The measurements in the description were kind of sparse, so, here is a bit more thorough set of measurements.

back plate: 5 1/2" L x 2 1/4" W x 1/4" D (roughly)
top arm: protrudes roughly 3 5/8" from wall
middle arm: protrudes roughly 3" from wall
bottom arm: protrudes roughly 2 3/4" from wall
screw hole diameter: roughly 1/4"

I ordered these for outdoor deck wood pillars by the pool to hang wet towels. I wanted something that held multiple towels and these work perfectly. Very strong & elegant looking as well. Thank you!!
